Understanding Hunger

Hunger is often associated as a negative effect of dieting and can cause significant mental distress which may contribute to overeating. However if we look more deeper into how hunger and understand why its occurs and how it works in yo-yo manner and why we view it as a positive sign.

As the graph shows you hunger pangs come and go and is actually dictated by a hormone called Ghrelin produced by your stomach, small intestine, pancreas and brain which is offset with eating. However because you are restricting your calories you will feel the full effect of the hunger nonetheless keep in mind this hunger feeling will go over that will help you mentally push through tough times.
